When thinking about the Environment, consider the landscape and natural resources of your community—its air, water, and land. How are these resources managed? Are there high levels of pollution? Check your local media for stories about natural resources. What are your community's concerns? Are people affected by erosion, overfishing, water contamination, algae blooms, etc?

N.C. Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources--Statisticsis an excellent place to start your research. Here you will find statistics, maps, and charts covering all aspects of the environment in N.C. This includes coastal, fishing, agricultural, wetlands information and more.

Pollution Scorecardwill give you information about air and water quality, and the level of pollutants present.
